WINTER JAM TOUR 2012

Yesterday was a VERY eventful day for the youth at our church.

Our day began with preparing hamburger plates for our youth luncheon fundraiser and ended with a night full of great music by 10 different bands, an amazing speaker who spoke God's word to us, and lots of laughter, singing, and dancing!  I think I can speak for the group in saying that Winter Jam was a blast and very refreshing!

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all who came and got a to go plate after church!  Your support means everything to us and we realize none of what we do could happen without our congregation.  So thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We arrived in Tupelo around 3:00 and ate an early dinner.  We then headed back to Bancorp South to see if we should go ahead and get a spot in line.  The answer was YES!  The line was already huge, so we decided to join all the other youth in wainting.  We waited for about an hour and 15 minutes and then the doors opened.  We grabbed our seats and soon after the concert started!

Skillet, NewSong, Kari Jobe, Sanctus Real, Peter Furler, Building 429, Group 1 Crew, Dara Maclean, For King and Country, and We As Human were the bands we heard.  10 bands for $10.. doesn't get much better!

Nick Hall was the speaker for the night and Illusionist Broke Gill joined us as well!  They were both wonderful.

Needless to say, the night was packed full of a lot of great things!

Thank you to Mrs. Irene Surma and Mrs. Melissa Vaughn for being willing to drive the youth to Tupelo.  Hope you both enjoyed the concert as much as I did!  Also, thank you to Mrs. Kim for letting me borrow your car for the night.  : )

Here are a few pictures from our night in Tupelo...

Greenwood Visit

First, a big THANKS to our friends from Greenwood who welcomed us into their church last night for youth with open arms!  The youth from Eupora who were able to go to St. John's UMC had a really great night and were already begging/asking me when we would be gathering with them again!  Not to mention, the entire car ride home (at least in my car) was spent searching for new friends on Facebook and adding each other immediately.  Their youth minister, John, and I are hoping to re-group again in the near future to go out and do some hands-on work/missions, so be on the lookout for this soon!  I am so excited to have met their group at CONVO this Summer and look forward to the friendships we've made growing stronger through our work together for Christ.
Thanks again St. John's Youth Group for a wonderful night of fellowship and fun!  Now, it is ya'lls turn to come to Eupora : ).

Here are a few pictures I took throughout the night.  (Sorry, didn't get many.. was too busy playing games!)

--GREENWOOD YOUTH NIGHT--

THIS COMING SUNDAY, February 12th, 2012....
we will be loading up and heading to Greenwood for a night of food, games/ hangout, and small bible study with St. John's United Methodist Church youth group.  If you went to CONVO this past Summer, you most likely met a few youth from there group.  Their youth pastor, John Warren, asked us to come join them for a night of fellowship together.  We are hoping to regroup again in the future for Mission Work Projects.

I hope everyone will come and bring their friends.  This is a great opportunity for you to meet and build relationships with other United Methodist Youth!

It will be a great night that you will not want to miss out on!  I will let you know details ASAP on departure time, as well as time of returning home!

Any parent who is willing to help drive, please let me know!  Thanks : ).

~*~SUPER BOWL PARTY~*~

Youth super bowl party tonight was a great time : ).  We had yummy snacks to eat on during the game and a pretty even split between Giant fans and Patriot fans to make it a competitive night!  Not only was the game entertaining, but also the half time show (with special dancing from a few youth and parents!)  Pictures will be posted for proof of this, so make sure to scroll down and see!!  Thank you to all of our parents for pitching in and sending great snacks along with your youth.  Also, special thanks to the Pittman's for hosting our party.  It was so much fun!

I hope everyone has a great week and will see you all again next Sunday!
